This updates my initial review. I decided to try a L instead of the M I bought initially, as the latter was really short towards the hindquarters, leaving a lot of her black hair exposed to the hot sun. The L does provide more protection there, but nothing added to her neck area; the L extends the length backwards but still leaves a lot of her critical neck area exposed. And, with the L size, it was overly loose underneath, so I had to cinch it up with a couple of large safety pins to provide a more snug fit. No big deal; it is not visible “topside” if appearance is important to you. It doesn’t seem to bother my dog. My initial evaluation of the shirt’s cooling effects remain the same. I think it is giving her some relief but nothing close to a 100% level. If you buy this product, don’t expect a miracle, in my opinion.
